San Diego Zoo LOGO REDESIGN

LOGO REDESIGN

Very recently, the zoo I have went to most (not my fav zoo), The Prestigious: San Diego Zoo; has adopted an entirely new logo and identity for all of its programs.

It makes so much sense to do this and even as a kid I thought that they should have done this. I always wondered about the correlation between the Wild Animal Park (renamed to ‘San Diego Safari’ now) and the Zoo itself. Now we have that unifying identity that will successfully lodge itself into the hearts and heads of adolescences. I applaud them.

However, my source did point out something that I love to preach about. The logos that have repeating letters such as ‘A’ are all the same, and then the organic-ness of the design gains a crack. I believe that the repeating letters should be altered to look more WILD.

2009 in Film

What I thought were the best. I know some people will be in disagreement with my picks and/or if I should even choose best/favorites. But fuck 'em. Anyways, I must remind you that things that I necessarily say are the best, aren't my favorites, but for this particular list, I think it does mean that they are my favorite too.In_the_Loop
Best

  1. Brothers
  2. A Serious Man
  3. Moon
  4. The Hurt Locker
  5. The International

Best Comedies
  1. In the Loop
  2. The Informant
  3. The Hangover

Things Coming soon in 2009 or that I haven't see yet
  1. The Road
  2. Crazy Heart
  3. The Lovely Bones

Keane’s Perfect Symmetry

I loved Keane just a few years ago. They were pretty nigh on my list of favorite bands… But they faded away and I forgot about them. I heard of their new album, and I finally got it. This is my perception of it.

It has the:Keane_Perfect_Symmetry

  • vocals of The Killers
  • instrumentals and groove of The Verve
  • goal of being Coldplay
  • epicness of Muse

and that all equals to pretty fucking good.

Even though I do enjoy the older defining Keane more, I love their new album a lot. It’s a great, energetic album to play in the background of almost any activity/work session.

The Last Week

Okay, people. I know millions of you have been eagerly awaiting my next installment to this glorious blog. Well it has finally cum.

I have been sick. Horribly (for most the time). So my brittle fingers have been falling off, so I was unable to type up my blogs.

Good News, I’ll be regularly back soon.

Also, does anyone miss ‘This Week In God’? (from the Daily Show).
I do.

Favorite Songs

My favorite music…This is a tough subject to write on. I know that for most people, (because I ask many many), they don’t have favorite songs. Why is this? I’m not sure why people don’t want to keep a list of their favorite stuff. At least movies, but no, some people respond to that question with some dumbass response like [for example;] Tomb Raider. WTF. Movies with that caliber like that have close to no quality, have poor acting, and are usually cranked out in time for the movie season at the theaters.

Of course, I’m a huge supporter of the rule that your favorites aren’t necessarily the best that you can think of, but they have to have some quality. I look down upon the person who likes crackers as their favorite food. You need cheese with it. Okay, not the best metaphor ever…

Anyways, these are my favorite songs. AT THE MOMENT! I just very recently added numbers 2 and 4. Also, other than the Final Cut, none of those songs actually take an order on my list.

  1. The Willing Well IV: The Final Cut (Coheed and Cambria)
  2. Wake Up (Arcade Fire)
  3. Suicide Sunday (Déportivo)
  4. Kalinka (Russian Folk Song)
  5. Born Slippy (Underworld)

Soon to be discussed: Favorite Albums! (which are more important than just songs individually) (can you tell that I take my own opinion very seriously?) (too seriously?) (an opinion isn’t actually worth anything, you know) (cept if you’re me)
